Acceptable Use Policy | Warisan Nusantara

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using warisannusantara.com (the "Service"). It is incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to this AUP.

2. You may use the Service for

- Personal travel research and trip planning - Reading, sharing (with attribution), and linking to our content - Creating an account to save favorites, reviews, and trips - Subscribing to our newsletter - Booking travel through our affiliate links - Educational and journalistic use with attribution

3. You may not use the Service for

1. Scraping or bulk data extraction. You may not crawl, scrape, mirror, or systematically download content from the Service at scale. Use our public RSS feed and sitemap if you want to follow updates. 2. AI training or model ingestion. You may not use our content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine learning model, large language model, embedding model, or generative AI system, without our written permission. This includes but is not limited to: - Scraping content for dataset creation - Using our content as input to commercial LLM APIs - Building derivative datasets for AI training - Reproducing our content in AI-generated outputs without attribution 3. Commercial republication. You may not republish our articles, guides, recipes, or images commercially without written permission. Linking and short excerpts (with attribution) are fine. 4. Reselling or redistributing our data. Our content (destinations, dishes, parks, festivals, articles, guides, recipes) is made available for personal use only. Building a competing commercial product from our data is not permitted. 5. Illegal activity. You may not use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any applicable laws. 6. Disruption. You may not attempt to: - Gain unauthorized access to the Service, accounts, or infrastructure - Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its users - Bypass rate limits, security measures, or access controls - Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our written permission - Launch denial-of-service attacks, brute-force attacks, or any automated abuse 7. Impersonation and fraud. You may not impersonate Warisan Nusantara, our staff, or other users, or create accounts to mislead others. 8. Harassment and abuse. You may not post reviews, comments, or other content that is: - Defamatory, obscene, or hateful - Threatening, harassing, or stalking - Promoting violence or illegal activity - Sexually explicit or exploiting minors - Infringing on someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights - Spam, advertising, or off-topic 9. Circumvention. You may not use any technical means to circumvent our access controls, paywalls, or rate limits. 10. Commercial scraping. Mass downloading of content for resale, redistribution, or AI training is prohibited.

4. AI training: our position

Short version: Our content is off-limits for AI training without our written permission. Why we have this rule: We invest substantial time and money in original research, photography, and writing. AI companies have scraped the open web and used copyrighted work without compensation to train commercial models that compete with our work. We do not consent to this use. What's allowed: Quoting short excerpts (under 200 words per piece) with attribution in a human-written article or review. Linking to our articles. Using our public RSS feed to follow our writing. What's not allowed: Using our content as input to commercial LLM APIs, building training datasets, or producing AI-generated content that substantially reproduces our work.

5. Enforcement

If you violate this AUP, we may: - Issue a warning - Temporarily suspend your account - Permanently ban your account - Block your IP address or range - Take legal action where appropriate - Report you to relevant authorities for illegal activity We try to be proportionate. We will explain any action we take if you ask.

6. Reporting violations

If you see content or behavior that violates this AUP, email abuse@warisannusantara.com with: - Your name and contact info - A description of the violation - URLs or screenshots as evidence - The date and time you observed it We will investigate within 5 business days and respond to you.

7. Changes to this AUP

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced on our blog and via email to account holders at least 30 days before they take effect.
